Mike's Knee Surgery

Mike had knee surgery back in January and he had to use this machine 20 hours a day. This machine almost made us get divorced!! First of all he slept in it for 8 weeks, second every 30 seconds it goes up to 95 degrees and then back down to -5 degrees all night long!! Third he had to sleep on his back so you can imagine the snoring that came along with that and fourth, I am pretty selfish so I made a terrible nurse!! And fifth he could not drive for 10 weeks so I was driving Mr. daisy everywhere!! Luckily we made it through the miserable sleepless nights and we are still married!!

I thought it was pretty funny when we went grocery shopping and Mike got to use the Jazzy!!

He made himself pretty useful around the housse. He scooted around on a computer chair washing dishes and vacuuming. I like to tell myself that he did it to help me out but I am pretty sure he just got sick of my whining and complaining that I was doing everything!!

He started getting really comfortable on his crushes and figured out all sorts of cool tricks and maneuvers!! I am pretty sure if they had an olympic event with crutches he would be there!!
After 10 long weeks we finally had a walker!! He is getting around a lot better but it will be a long time before he will get to run and play sports again.
Thank you to all of our friends here in Japan for all of your help through this long recovery. It was so nice to have so many friends bring dinner, snacks, donuts, movies, video games, cards and hugs!!

Happy Thanksgiving!!

I can't believe that we have been in Japan now for 1 year! This was our second Thanksgiving in Japan and it was so fun!

Myles class had a Thanksgiving play and he was the Minister.

The Bartons invited us to their house for Thanksgiving Dinner and the rented a bouncy house for the kids.
These were the centerpieces that we made for the tables.
(thanks mom for teaching me one of your talents)

A cheesecake that I made for dessert.

All of the yummy desserts!

This was our first Halloween in Japan. It was a quiet Halloween but we still had a great time!

The Mario Bros!!
Trunk or Treat at the church

The kids put on a rock concert at the Barton's house and it was so funny to see the Japanese families sit there for 20 minutes listening to them sing Taylor Swift!!
